Cannabis has evolved over time, bringing us a variety of ways to consume it. Out of all the methods to consume cannabis, four categories have dominated the market and culture. Flower is the largest sector of the cannabis market, followed by Pre Rolls. Whether its rolled up or packed in a bowl, flower is the most traditional and most popular method of consuming cannabis. In recent years, vapes have taken third place with dabs not far behind. While dabs entered the market first, the convenience and inconspicuousness of vapes have helped them over take dabs.

While knowing which sectors are most popular is nice, it doesn't help us find which option is right for us. Smoking alone? Out with friends? Looking to blast off? Can't smell like weed? Depending on the situation we find ourselves in, different products can help us get elevated. Below we will go over each category, the pros and cons of each of them, and give suggestions based on different factors.

Flower

No matter how you smoke it, flower is the most traditional and popular form of consuming cannabis, THCA included. Flower is harvested off the cannabis plant and cured until its dry enough to smoke. Because of this flower, nugs, or bud are the least processed and most accessible forms of cannabis. It also possesses a wide variety of cannabinoids like CBD, CBG, more as well as terpenes which help flower to give you a much more complete experience. While concentrates are meant to maximize the amount of THCA in a product, flower can still deliver a more potent high. Nothing hits like clearing a huge bowl.

Perhaps the only downside to flower, would be the smell. Because you are burning and not vaporizing the flower, the smoke emitted is much more dense and can leave behind a smell.

Pre Rolls

While Pre Rolls have flower inside of them, the smoking experience can be vastly different to using a pipe or bong and packing a bowl. Pre Rolls usually have two main groups, joints and blunts/wraps. Both are fantastic ways to smoke socially. If you are out with friends and everyone is a cannabis enthusiast, then rolling up some flower and sparking up is a great way to share that experience with everyone. However, depending on the setting you find yourself in, you will need to choose between a joint or a blunt/wrap.

Joints are primarily rolled using a filter and thin paper. This is a great choice for health conscious cannabis enthusiasts as the thin paper will have the least amount of pollutants. However, if your outside or in a windy area, the thin paper will burn quickly and ruin the smoking experience.

Blunts are primarily rolled without a filter and using a wrap or leaf, traditionally a tobacco leaf. Recently, as people are starting to steer away from tobacco, wraps using hemp leaf have become much more popular. In an outdoor setting blunts/wraps shine. Because the wrap is thicker than joint paper, any wind will not cause the wrap to burn up, allowing you to elevate your outdoor experiences.

Just like flower, the only con to pre rolls is the smell. Because you are still burning the flower and wrap or paper of your choice, the smoke will leave behind that same dense smell.

Vapes

Vapes are the newest category to enter the cannabis market. Filled with high percentage THCA concentrate, vapes offer a mobile, discreet, and potent smoking experience. Unlike flower and pre rolls, there is no dense smoke to cause a lingering smell. Another pro for vapes is the fact that you vaporize instead of burn the material. Vaporizing is much softer on your body and lungs than smoking is.

Perhaps the one factor lacking in vapes is the fact that it is lacking other cannabinoids. Due to the concentration process, THCA concentrates have a lot of THCA which will turn into the psychoactive THC, but they lack cannabinoids like CBD, CBG, and more which are responsible for the medicinal effects cannabis can have.

Dabs

Last but not least, THCA Dabs. Dabs is a popular term for cannabis concentrates that you vaporize, primarily through a glass pipe. Concentrates offer a unique experience loved by true cannabis connoisseurs by delivering strong flavor, strong THCA percentage, and being less harmful on your body.

Dabs are able to deliver a strong flavor due to being so concentrated. The only components left in THCA concentrates is THCA, and the strains terpene profile. This means that all you are tasting is THCA and the strains mix of aromas and flavors. You also receive the best potency and bang for your buck with dabs. While most flower products max out at 40% THCA, concentrates can reach up to 95% THCA really helping you reaching new heights. Also, just like vapes, dabs are vaporized which makes them softer on your lungs and body.
